The Little Island Lighthouse, on the Litløya small island in Vesterålen, was for decades the second most important lighthouse in Norway. Today, it’s a spectacle to visit this island, an utterly unique experience. You can sleep in the lighthouse, with views of the Lofoten Islands mountains. One can vividly feel the power of the Norwegian Sea and enjoy the marvelous, ever changing lights of the Arctic landscape. This entire inspiration led me to create this plein air painting in February 2025.
